Members of the OZONE4WATER consortium (Ricardo Santos, Madalena Dias, Margarida Brito, Isabel Fernandes, Carolina Duarte, and Paulo Marrocos) participated in the organization of the 17th European Conference on Mixing – Mixing17, held in Porto, Portugal, from 2nd to 5th July 2023. This successful conference series is organized by the European Federation of Chemical Engineering – Working Party on Mixing; it has been running since 1974. Mixing 17 will run under the unifying theme of mixing as a solution for fundamental problems of modern societies. The OZONE4WATER team contributed with four research works entitled “Solid-Liquid Suspension in Continuous Oscillatory Baffled Reactors – Experimental Study”; “A Reduced Geometrical Model for the Design of NETmix Reactors”; “CFD-Aided Design of Primary Settlers”; and “Assessment of the Effect of Channel Length on the Gas-Liquid Mass Transfer: Enhancing the NETmix Technology for Ozonation”.

Margarida Brito won the 2023 Young Researcher Award in Mixing of the European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE). The award recognises the quality of her PhD thesis, the impact on the field of Mixing through her publications in international journals, international activities and networks, and the industrial significance of her scientific activity.
