The first progress meeting of the OZONE4WATER project was held on 26th January 2022 between 14:00h and 16:35h via Zoom platform, as imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The project PI (Vítor J.P. Vilar) and chair of the meeting, welcomed all the participants and presented the updates on the project progress, including the new members of the research team, outputs, official logo, website, first progress report and payment request to be submitted to FCT. Then, the research fellows and the PhD students enrolled in the project presented the main results obtained in the last 6 months of the project. The research fellow Inês Magalhães Rodrigues presented the work entitled “Development of Functionalized Membranes for O2/O3 Separation”, related to Task 1. Then, the research fellow Paulo Henrique Marrocos de Oliveira conducted a presentation on “Evaluation of the Gas/Liquid Mass Transfer in the NETmix Reactor: Estimation of Parameters through Experimental Data and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Modelling”, linked to Task 2. Afterward, the PhD student Mateus Pereira Caixeta presented the work entitled “Membrane Technology towards Ozone Dosing: Multiphase Modelling using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)”, embracing Tasks 1 and 2. Finally, the PhD student Pedro Henrique Presumido presented the work “Ozone Membrane Contactor for Tertiary Treatment of Urban Wastewater: Disinfection and Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CECs) Removal”, covering Tasks 1 and 4. After each presentation, a brief discussion on the topic took place. At the end of the presentations, the next steps of the project were defined and discussed. At 16:35h, the project PI concluded the meeting.
