The third/final progress meeting of the OZONE4WATER project and Workshop on Quaternary Treatment Technologies for Micropollutants Removal was held on 16th December 2024 between 9:00h and 18:00h at Freixo Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), Porto, Portugal. It involved 40 participants.
At the appointed time, the meeting started with a welcome by Rúben Fernandes, CEO of Águas e Energia do Porto. Following this, Vítor Vilar set out the main outputs of the OZONE4WATER project. Next, senior researchers, PhD students and research fellows from FEUP enrolled in the project presented the main results obtained in each task: Inês Rodrigues (PhD student, Task 1); Ricardo Santos (Assistant Researcher, Task 2); Vítor Vilar (PI, Task 3 and 4); Laura Cullen (Research fellow, Task 3); Carla Santos (PhD student, Task 4); and Inês Rodrigues (PhD student, Task 5). After each presentation, there was a brief discussion. The meeting continued with a lunch at Freixo WWTP. After lunch, all participants visited the pilot prototype of the OZONE4WATER project installed at the Freixo WWTP’s facilities, guided by Vítor Vilar (project’s PI, FEUP) and Carla Santos (PhD student, FEUP). In the afternoon (14-18h) it was carried out the Workshop on Quaternary Treatment Technologies for Micropollutants Removal, where several water utilities (Águas do Norte, SIMDOURO), research centers (CETMAR and CETAQUA), and companies (Veolia, VentilAqua, AST, Moinhos Água e Ambiente) presented their technologies/solutions. After each presentation, there was a brief discussion. At 18:00h, the meeting was concluded by the PI of the OZONE4WATER project.
