From 7th to 11th November 2022, two members of the OZONE4WATER consortium (Vítor Vilar and Francisca Moreira) attended the 5th Iberoamerican Conference on Advanced Oxidation Technologies (V CIPOA), held in Cusco, Peru. This conference is an international forum for discussion on the state of the art in scientific development and technical solutions concerning the application of Advanced Oxidation Technologies on the environmental, energy, and climate sectors, towards a sustainable and carbon-neutral circular economy. The OZONE4WATER team contributed to this conference with several research works, three of them related to ozonation processes and entitled “NETmix technology as ozone gas injection system for tertiary treatment of urban wastewater”, “Evaluation of ozone mass transfer in a tubular porous stainless steel membrane contactor”, and “A novel ozone membrane contactor for the removal of CECs from secondary effluent of municipal wastewater and reverse osmosis concentrate”.

Francisca Moreira won the Early Career Researcher (ERC) prize awarded at the event. This prize aims to distinguish ERCs with outstanding scientific research in the fields contemplated by the CIPOA.
